61: The Horse Shoe New Brighton

The Horse Shoe New BrightonThe Horse Shoe New Brighton

This view is taken from Victoria Road looking down towards the pier. (The entrance can be seen to the left of centre). To the left of the picture, on the corner of Virginia Road, are the public toilets. These stood until the 1980s when they were demolished. (There was a sign in the gents which read "Gentlemen, please adjust your dress before leaving"). The "Horse Shoe" referred to in the title of the card was the loop of tram track that ran around the lamp post in the centre of the picture.
